A prestige Point Piper home had accumulated a decade of networking gear: a Telstra Smart Modem, a Synology WRX560, NetComm powerline adapters and a legacy Apple AirPort — four brands, several overlapping WiFi networks, and high-end audio that kept falling silent.

The problem: a "four-brand patchwork"
问题:一张"四品牌拼凑网"
Each device had been added over the years to patch a coverage hole, and each broadcast its own network. The result: double NAT behind multiple routers, channel interference between overlapping signals, and devices constantly hopping networks. The most painful symptom was the smart audio — Sonos, Bang & Olufsen and Audio Pro speakers scattered through the house would drop off mid-play or refuse to appear in their apps at all.
每台设备都是当年为了补某个信号盲区加上去的,而且各自广播自己的WiFi。结果就是:多台路由器叠出双重NAT、重叠信号互相抢信道、设备在几张网络之间来回跳。最折磨人的症状在智能音响上——散布全屋的Sonos、Bang & Olufsen和Audio Pro音箱,播着播着就掉线,或者干脆在App里找不到。
What we did
我们做了什么
- Procurement & pre-staging: sourced a 4-pack TP-Link Deco AX3000 and pre-configured the whole mesh off-site, so the on-site cutover would disrupt the household as little as possible.
- Site survey: walked the property, tested signal attenuation room by room and planned the node topology around the building's structure.
- Deployment: installed the 4 Deco nodes, retired the overlapping legacy networks, and eliminated the double-NAT chain behind the Telstra modem.
- Device integration: re-connected the whole smart-home fleet to the new unified network — three brands of smart speakers, the smart TV, printers and more.
- Optimisation: tuned channels and verified seamless roaming through every zone of the property.
- 采购与预配置:采购TP-Link Deco AX3000四只装,提前在场外完成整套Mesh配置,把上门切换对这家人生活的打扰压到最低。
- 现场勘测:逐房间实测信号衰减,结合建筑结构规划节点拓扑。
- 部署实施:安装4个Deco节点,退役所有互相重叠的旧网络,消除Telstra光猫后面的双重NAT链路。
- 设备接入:把全屋智能设备重新接入统一网络——三个品牌的智能音箱、智能电视、打印机等。
- 调优验证:信道调优,并逐区域验证全屋无缝漫游。
Why pre-staging matters
为什么"预配置"很关键
In an occupied family home — especially a large one — hours of on-site trial and error is itself a cost. Configuring the mesh in advance turned installation day into mostly physical placement and verification, not experimentation.
在有人正常生活的大宅里,技术人员现场折腾几个小时本身就是一种成本。把Mesh提前配置好,上门当天要做的就主要是摆放、接线和验证,而不是现场试错。
