One-Stop NBN Setup for a Barangaroo Student Apartment
Barangaroo · ApartmentNew NBN activationNAS & home theatreSame-day
A postgraduate student who did his undergrad in the US moved into a harbourside Barangaroo apartment (about $1,400/week). He was used to 2Gbps symmetric internet and a provider that handled everything — then he met the Australian NBN.
The brief
Two weeks before move-in he messaged us: which ISP, which plan, and can it just work on day one? His main use cases were a NAS-based private home theatre on the living-room TV, plus normal study and streaming.
What we did
- Day before move-in: compared ISPs for his building's connection type, placed the order and pushed activation online.
- Move-in morning: arrived with a suitable router, completed setup, and wired the living-room wall port so the NAS and TV run on Ethernet, not WiFi.
- Walked through speeds, the ISP app and what to do if anything drops.
Result
Online before unpacking — NAS home theatre running on wired gigabit the same morning.
