Upgrading your plan or router and suddenly having no internet at all is one of the most common calls we get. The router usually gets the blame; it's usually not the router.

A UNSW postgrad in an older Rosebery apartment ordered a Superloop gigabit plan and bought a new router to match. Nothing worked. He'd done careful homework — even swapped the power adapter on the wall unit. On-site, we confirmed the router and plan were fine: the aging wall-mounted Huawei ONT (fibre terminal common in older Opticomm buildings) had simply reached end of life. We coordinated the replacement, then configured the router properly for the building's network.

If only one device connects, or every device shows 'connected, no internet' after an upgrade, suspect the chain in this order: ONT/wall equipment → ISP provisioning → WAN settings → then the router itself. A Perth student with the same symptom (only one device online on a brand-new TP-Link) was fixed entirely over a late-night video call.
