Over the past few months we'd answered this USYD project-management postgrad's network questions many times, for free, on Xiaohongshu and elsewhere. He used to live in a city student apartment near UTS where the connection was unstable and kept ruining his gaming — so this time, before he even chose the new place, he came to us to check the network situation first.

Before he signed anything, we gave him advice on picking the right place (connection type and what to check), plus guidance on which provider to activate and how. Getting this right up front is exactly what saves people from a bad line they can't change without moving again.

On the day we arrived with a TP-Link WiFi 7 router (same as we source for other gaming clients) and configured it on-site. Like the neighbouring Rhodes job, the rooms were only wired for phone, so we re-terminated eight in-wall runs as working Ethernet — connecting both his and his flatmate's bedroom ports — then ran on-site speed tests to confirm the line was ready for their gaming.
