The plan had just been activated, the cables were in, and the router still would not stay online. This is the kind of job where it is tempting to keep re-entering settings in the router until something works. We did fix a genuine configuration error on the router — and the connection still died within seconds. The answer was not in the router's admin page at all. It was on the front of the Huawei ONT.

The router was the obvious suspect, so we settled it first: its connection type had never been set to match the plan, and we corrected that. After the fix the router did report success — for a few seconds — then reported the cable was unplugged again. That pattern, plus PON, LAN and status lights all flashing abnormally on the Huawei ONT, points upstream of the router, not at it.路由器是最显眼的嫌疑人，所以先把它排掉：它的联网方式一直没有按所开套餐设置，我们现场改对了。改完之后路由器确实提示联网成功——但只维持了几秒，接着又提示网线未连接。这个规律，加上华为光猫的 PON 灯、LAN 口灯和状态灯全都在异常闪烁，说明问题在路由器上游，而不在路由器本身。

Indicator lights are the cheapest diagnostic you have, and they tell you something the router admin page cannot.

The router page only knows what the router can see. If the line beneath it is unstable, the page just says the cable is unplugged.
An ONT with detailed lights — PON, LAN, status — lets you read the line state directly, which is why technicians like those models.
Some ONTs and routers only have one or two vague lights. On those, isolating a fault takes noticeably longer.
A connection that comes up and then dies in seconds is a different symptom from one that never comes up. Do not treat them the same.

指示灯是你手上最便宜的诊断工具，而且它能告诉你路由器后台看不到的东西。

路由器后台只知道路由器能看到的东西。下面的线路不稳，它就只会显示“网线未连接”。

Two things made the call to the provider productive rather than another long hold:

We had already corrected the router configuration, so we could say with confidence that the router had been ruled out.
We ran the dial-up test live while their technician watched from their side, so both ends saw the same failure at the same moment.
Their technician agreed the fault sat with the ONT or the line, and booked the Opticomm field visit rather than sending us round in circles.
Support calls go much faster when the person on the phone can describe exactly which lights are doing what.

有两点让这通运营商电话变得高效，而不是又一次漫长的等待：

我们已经先把路由器配置改对了，所以可以明确告诉对方：路由器这一侧已经排除。

If you have just activated a plan and cannot stay online, this is the order worth following.

Confirm the physical path first — ONT LAN port to the router WAN port, not into a LAN port.
Set the router's connection type to match the plan you actually activated, rather than leaving it on the factory default.
Then watch the ONT lights for a full minute. Steady lights and steady failure means configuration; flashing lights means the line.
If a reset and a power cycle change nothing, stop resetting. At that point only the network company can move it forward.
If the phone call is the hard part, we can make it with you or on your behalf and describe the symptoms accurately.

如果你刚开通套餐、却一直连不稳，建议按这个顺序来。

先确认物理链路——光猫的 LAN 口接到路由器的 WAN 口，而不是插进 LAN 口。

Result最终结果

Two separate issues, found in order: the router's connection type had never been set to match the activated plan, which we corrected on-site; and beneath it the Huawei ONT was showing abnormal PON, LAN and status lights that survived both a reset and a power cycle. With the router ruled out and the failure reproduced live for the provider's technician, an Opticomm field visit was booked to deal with the ONT or the line.

两个问题按顺序被找出来：一是路由器的联网方式从来没有按已开通的套餐设置过，现场改对；二是它下面的华为光猫 PON、LAN、状态灯持续异常闪烁，reset 和断电重启都无法恢复。在路由器已被排除、并向运营商技术人员现场复现故障之后，对方预约了 Opticomm 上门处理光猫或线路。
